How to Download Reddit Videos on Android Devices
You can download Reddit videos on Android by copying the link from the Reddit app and opening it in Chrome to save the merged MP4 file. The video downloads straight into your device Downloads folder and appears instantly in Google Photos or your Gallery app.
Prerequisites Checklist
- Any Android phone or tablet (Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Motorola, etc.)
- Google Chrome, Firefox, or Samsung Internet browser
- The link of any public Reddit video or clip
- Sufficient local storage space for saved media
Why Browser-Based Downloads Are Safer on Android
The Google Play Store contains numerous video downloader utilities that request invasive device permissions, display full-screen popups, or harvest personal data. Using a secure web-based tool avoids installing untrusted APKs or suspicious apps.
Chrome and modern Android browsers run in a secure sandbox, writing files straight to your device public Downloads directory without requesting unnecessary contact or location permissions.
Step-by-Step: Download Reddit Videos on Android
Follow these straightforward instructions to save clips on Android:
- Open the Reddit app or web client, tap the Share icon beneath the post, and select "Copy Link".
- Launch Google Chrome, visit Video Link Download, and paste the URL into the search box.
- Select your preferred quality from the "Video + Audio" panel.
- Tap "Download" and the file will save directly to your Android device.
Finding Downloaded Clips in Google Photos and Gallery
Android media scanner automatically indexes newly downloaded files. As soon as your download completes, open Google Photos or your manufacturer Gallery (such as Samsung Gallery) and navigate to "Albums > Downloads".
Your video is ready for offline playback, editing, or sending via WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord.
Troubleshooting Android Downloads and File Managers
If your download pauses or fails, verify that Chrome has permission to save files to storage under Settings > Apps > Chrome > Permissions. Also check that your device battery saver is not aggressively killing background browser tabs.
